Description

Because dew had gotten inside my Stellarvue 140 triplet lens, I had to remove it and give everything a good cleaning.  This is the first imaging run since then.  Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to degrade transparency.  There was a waxing gibbous moon wising and I am in Bortle 6 skies.  Seeing was better than average for my area, probably just under 2 arc sec.  I took 5 hours worth of 2 min subs but had to discard the last hour because of declining transparency and heavy dew formation again in the wee hours of the morning.  This is an uncropped image of the original stack.  Photometric color calibration against Simbad and Lucy-Richardson deconvolution were the main post-processing steps.  I used Topaz Labs De-Noise to smooth the background a bit.  Usually I avoid doing this, but here it seemed to help.
